The Case of the Reappearing Plunger
Something very strange hath happened to me. This story requires a little jump back in time, circa t-one month…
I’m anxiously awaiting my departure to the great land of Illinois, where I will have my own studio apartment for the first time and be responsible for every single household item one can imagine -- yes, including spices, of which I now have my very own cumin and curry powder! #adulting. Anyway, I decided to start with the basics:
1) toilet plunger
2) mattress
Now, I don’t think I need to defend my choices, but let’s just say that if you only have one toilet, a plunger is a no-brainer priority purchase. Because shit happens.
So I order my plunger and am grateful for the millionth time for Amazon Prime because it’ll be there to greet me when I arrive, and I really couldn’t ask for a better housewarming gift!
Fast forward a few days. I show up to my apartment to not only no plunger, but also to a Home Depot email saying my mattress delivery has been delayed. Just my luck.
I proceed to Amazon customer service, where I (very nicely) complain that I never received my plunger and am in great distress. Thankfully, Amazon customer service is wonderful (actually lowkey flirty) and vows to send me a new plunger overnight! Perfect, problem solved. If only Home Depot could ship mattresses overnight!
Fast forward to yesterday. I’ve now accumulated quite a bit of stuff, including a mattress, and have my beautiful plunger all nice and ready to be used when needed. I'm minding my own business when I receive the strangest email from Amazon stating that I have an item ready to be picked up from my Amazon locker...but I have no recollection of making any recent orders. What could it be? I wondered….
So I open up my Amazon app, go to my orders, and see a preposterous notice that the plunger is ready for pick-up!!!
I’m no detective so I don’t think I’ll ever figure this one out, but I guess when life gives you a plunger they just keep comin’. Or maybe this is a sign that someone within the Amazon customer service team misses me? I'll try to not let this get to my head (especially since it's meant for the toilet).
it sounds like. you might've misordered the plunger to an amazon locker...
ReplyDeleteOk so tell me why it said delivered but didn't give me an option to pick it up from a locker a month ago??
